emuLAN is a LAN Party hosted at the University of Oregon in Eugene. The event is a collaboration between students and numerous UO departments. emuLAN is all about bringing people together who have a passion for video games and technology.
This year's event will feature PC and console game tournaments, four console free-play rooms with monstrous projector screens, a lounge area for handheld gaming, free swag and 24 hours of nonstop gaming of every kind.
The emuLAN is alcohol and drug free and invites people of most ages to attend [assuming you can handle being around a bunch of immature college students].
If you're the least bit interested we encourage you to join the ongoing discussion in our emuLAN forums.
Register online here. You will receive additional information when you confirm your registration. We will be accepting payments at the door or if you want to pay early we will be accepting payment at the emu ticket office.

Parking can be somewhat of a problem on the University of Oregon campus. As with anything, always pay attention to the signs and DO NOT PARK IN RESTRICTED AREAS. You will get ticketed. Your best bet would be to download a detailed parking map and plan out your parking in advance.
That being said you will be most likely to find parking in Lot 15 [Oregon Hall lot off of Agate], which is safe for overnight parking.
The best place to unload your equipment is up Onyx Street, behind the EMU. You may also unload in front of the EMU, near the Fishbowl, along University Street. Bring your equipment inside and put it in line [we’ll try to have carts], and then move your vehicle to a designated parking area. You may leave your vehicle unattended for a maximum of 5 minutes as long as it does not restrict traffic in the area. Do not block access to any driveways or parking spaces.
If you find a space that is marked "reserved" check the fine print. If it says M-F 8-6 then you can park there on the weekends for free. DO NOT PARK IN spaces that are marked with the RESERVED AT ALL TIMES sign. You will be towed.
Lot 29A [EMU back lot] is reserved for visitors only, is pay to park Monday-Saturday 7am-6pm and has no overnight parking. As such, it is not a good idea to park there.
Please remove all valuables from your vehicles overnight. As with all campus environments, petty theft is an increasing problem.
Love gaming but feel more at home with a console? This time around emuLAN will feature an enhanced console gaming experience! In addition to the general admission price we are offering a $5 discount for people only coming to play console games. This discount will not reserve you table space or power outlets, but it will grant you 24-hour access to our expanded line-up of console games and tournaments.
All emuLAN attendees will have access to our four console free-play rooms, all of which feature monstrous projector screens, where you can throw down on the PlayStation 2, GameCube or Wii. We will also have a lounge area for handheld gamers looking to relax and play a little Nintendo DS or PSP. Have a console game that you want to play? Bring it with you!
After the success of our Guitar Hero tournament last year, we have decided to feature additional console tournaments, including Guitar Hero 3, Mario Kart: Double Dash! and an undecided Wii game. Please see the schedule or visit the emuLAN forums for the most current tournament information.
You will need to bring the following items with you to the emuLAN:
We will have a limited number of ethernet cables and mousepads available for those who have forgotten them, but please bring your own if you can.
Please leave the following items at home:
The emuLAN is a community oriented event and as such it is important to consider your neighbors.
Before you arrive at the event it is a good idea to make sure that your computer is properly patched and has up to date anti-virus software, otherwise you may inadvertently infect other users when you plug into our network. Staff members will be on hand during the event to assist you with this if you have any questions.
Please do your part to keep the event clean by putting your trash in the proper receptacles and taking care of any spills you may encounter.
Remember that the emuLAN is all about connecting with people. Try talking with your neighbors if you are interested in getting a game going. If you are having trouble meeting people then feel free to ask a staff member to show you around. Remember that the staff are there to make sure that everyone has a fun time, so don’t feel shy about asking them any questions you may have.
